Talk Description:
The Take Charge America Institute, in partnership with Arizona Cooperative Extension, has developed and implemented several personal finance education programs delivered in-person and online throughout Arizona, reaching populations from three-year-old children with Littles Count-Big Change! to older adults with Building Financial Security. This session will provide you with an overview of our workshop offerings including the newly established Financial Coaching Cats to the well-established, Where Does Your Money Go?
We will focus specifically on our Family Talks-Money Edition program which uses a two-generation approach and multi-faceted program model to facilitate positive parent-child interactions and the emotional and financial wellbeing of the family. This USDA/NIFA funded project through the Children, Youth, and Families at Risk (CYFAR) Grant Program emphasizes: positive parenting of teens, financial literacy/parenting, youth financial education, and community connectedness. Our team will explain the genesis of this curriculum, how we evaluate the program’s effectiveness, evaluation utilization to inform program improvement, and next steps towards program sustainability.
