Request for Paying Pre-Travel Expenses:
To minimize personal spending on approved conference travel, we recommend that you coordinate with the Norton School Business Center (fcsbusctr@email.arizona.edu) to check out the department p-card and/or request a travel advance. We can pay for your conference registration and airfare using the department p-card up to two weeks prior to your departure date.
As for lodging and ground transportation, you are responsible for paying these expenses with your personal credit card. Once you return from your trip, you can submit a travel reimbursement request along with physical receipts. If you anticipate that your travel expenses will exceed $250 and you are unable to pay these expenses, we recommend that you request a travel advance up to two weeks prior to your departure date. The travel advance funds will deposit one-week prior to your departure date. Upon returning, you will need to settle your travel advance by providing physical receipts to the Norton School Business Office. Please note, if your expenses are less than your requested travel advance amount you will have to pay back the difference with a check.
If you have any questions or concerns about travel policy, please email the Norton School Business Center at fcsbusctr@email.arizona.edu.
Post-Award Requirements:
- Within two weeks of your return, you must submit the following materials to families@cals.arizona.edu
- A short summary (1/2 a page to a page) of your experience and how it was valuable for your professional education.
- A digital photograph of yourself, preferably in a research setting or at the conference.
- These materials will be put on the FMI website for promotional and fundraising purposes.
